Standing in front of Església Nova, you’re greeted by the gentle sound of waves lapping against the shore, mixed with the distant laughter of children playing. The scent of saltwater fills the air, accompanied by hints of sunscreen and beach snacks. The warm sun casts a golden hue on the white stone façade of the church, inviting you to begin your journey down to Corp.
As you stroll along Carrer de les Bassetes, the path transitions from the serene atmosphere around the church to the lively energy of the beach promenade. You’ll notice the terrain shift as you approach the sands of Cala Millor Beach. On your left, the azure sea sparkles under the sun, while on your right, beachfront cafés and shops line the street, their music and chatter blending into the background. The sounds of seagulls add to the coastal symphony, and the smell of grilled seafood wafts through the air as you pass local eateries.
Keep an eye out for uneven cobblestones along the promenade; they can be tricky if you're not paying attention. While the area is generally safe, be cautious of pickpockets in crowded spots, especially around the beach bars. If you're walking during the peak hours, expect a bit of traffic in the narrow streets, but it's manageable. Some shops may have varying opening hours, so it’s best to check ahead if you’re looking to grab a souvenir or two.
Wear comfortable footwear since you'll be on your feet for a while, and don’t forget to bring water to stay hydrated. If you're walking in the summer, sunscreen and a hat are essential. Mornings or late afternoons are ideal for this route, as the sun is less intense and the temperatures are more pleasant.
The best moment of this walk comes as you reach Corp, ideally during the golden hour when the sun dips low. The light casts a warm glow on the beach, highlighting the soft waves and creating a reflective shimmer. Take a moment to breathe in the salty air, feeling the gentle breeze on your skin, as the day begins to wind down.
